‘Education's purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one’ (Malcolm Forbes)

There is future in the past

The National Liberation Museum 1944-1945 presents aspects of WWII and the liberation in clear and informative ways based on photos, objects, text, dioramas and various moments of experience. There are, for example, typical 1940's smells, film footage, sound fragments, a replica of an air raid shelter during a bombardment and a replica of Titus Brandsma’s cell. A tolerance test and a dilemma game give you an opportunity to examine yourself. Students visiting the Liberation Museum take a step back in time. They hear, see, feel and smell history - the museum as an inspirational learning environment.

The museum offers an educational programme with assignments in English for:

Primary schools

Secondary schools

We also provide on request an English general guide to the museum for children from 7-12 with assignments to help them discover the museum. Please ask at the reception desk for the guide.
